News Release:
The North Texas Rail Group has made significant progress towards the construction of the A-train passenger rail that will connect Carrollton to Denton and the building of five rail stations.
Since construction began this summer, workers have cleared vegetation from the railroad right-of-way of-way, completed more than nine new railroad crossings, installed a 1,400-foot sound-wall barrier and began work on three pedestrian bridges in Corinth.
Miles of old rail have been removed and replaced with new track that meets the federal standards for passenger trains and speed.
Also, miles of railroad bed have been built with improved drainage, grading and other materials for a high-quality railroad.
New siding track has been installed near the Hebron crossing that will be used to move one train off the main track, while another train passes. Work has also started in the construction of three of the five stations, and the installation of crossing signals and gates is underway.
