What other studies have been done on this proposed regional rail line?

A study called an Alternatives Analysis (AA) was conducted in 2004 and 2005 to confirm regional rail is a viable option for improving mobility in the county, and served as a decision-making tool for determining the transportation investment. The transit option recommended by the DCTA Board of Directors in May 2005 was to build a regional passenger rail line between Denton and Carrollton. An environmental analysis and evaluation of the route was initiated in 2006, and concluded in early 2008. The Final Environmental Impact Determination (FEID) was approved in April 2008. A copy of the final document is available online.
